Teen charged with stabbing another teen in Effingham Co.

GUYTON, GA (WTOC) -

New details have surfaced out of Effingham County, where a 16-year-old is now facing charges after a 17-year-old girl was stabbed multiple times.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Investigators say the girl was stabbed on Watts Road off of Georgia 17 just south of Guyton. After the stabbing, the victim was taken to a home in Guyton and that's when medics were called.

"Guyton Police Department responded to a call on Maple Circle in Guyton, Georgia, where a victim had been stabbed multiple times. Once they arrived on scene they determined that the actual crime took place in the county. Deputies then responded out to 186 Watts Road in reference to a stabbing," said Sgt. Don White, Jr., Effingham County Sheriff's Office.

The victim was airlifted to the hospital. There is no word on her condition.

Officials say the victim and the suspect knew each other, and had gotten into a fight after an ongoing feud.

The suspect, a 16-year-old girl, was taken into custody and charged.
