Teen struck by vehicle in front of Windsor Forest HS

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police are investigating a teenage boy being struck by a vehicle Friday morning in front of Windsor Forest High School. 

It happened at about 7:35 a.m. when the 15-year-old high school student was walking to Windsor Forest High School on the sidewalk on Largo Drive and Lynnwood. The southbound lanes of Largo Drive in Savannah were closed until about 10 a.m.

Police said that for unknown reasons a woman drove her vehicle on the sidewalk and hit the student. The teen was taken to Memorial University Medical Center for treatment. Police said his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. 

Savannah-Chatham Metro's Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating.
