STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) -

Runners in and around Statesboro can take part in a 5k road race Saturday to help a neighbor. 180 Fitness has organized "Bubbles in the 'Boro" to benefit Alma Freeman, a local woman fighting cancer.

Organizers said people in the community seem to respond to races with a charity cause.

"We have a lot of runners and this is good, cool weather for it," said Jennifer Douglas. "Plus lots of them are getting ready for longer races in the next couple of weeks so this is a good way to prepare."

The race will start at 8 a.m. at the Recreation Activity Center at Georgia Southern University.
