SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

While the biggest days of filming have begun Monday for Spongebob Squarepants 2 on Broughton Street, an accident last week has been linked to the film production.

Surveillance video of the early morning downtown accident was released by the City of Savannah Monday. The accident left a hole in the wall of a Whitaker Street bar and grill.

The city says everything has been flawless and businesses are doing better than expected. The one blemish on the Spongebob production so far is  this accident, caught on tape and released by the city.

It was 6:30 am last Wednesday morning. It shows a John Deere tractor cart jet out of Congress Lane and hit an oncoming SUV which smashed into the Hercules Bar and Grill.

The city says the driver of the cart was with the Spongebob production team and was cited. That area was not a permitted area for the film, so Paramount Pictures and the business will have to deal with each other privately.

The SUV driver was not at fault, according to the city.

City officials call it a traffic accident and want to focus on how well everything has run so far with the filming downtown.

Hercules Bar and Grill had some fun with the accident on their Facebook page, posting a picture of the damage and saying Spongebob couldn't wait until they were open "to get one of their gyros."  No word yet on the serious side of things.
