SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Metro police had to reroute traffic along Bay Street in downtown Savannah for close to two hours Tuesday morning due to a wreck.

Two cars collided at the intersection of Bay Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. shortly before 7 a.m. Tuesday.

The wreck blocked three lanes on Bay Street and officers had turned the one open lane into two-way traffic. The wreck was cleared and all lanes reopened around 8:30 a.m.

At this time, officials have not released any details about the crash. It is still unknown what caused the wreck or if there were any injuries involved, but witnesses say they do not believe anyone was hurt, however, both vehicles suffered major damage.

Another minor wreck happened shortly after the Bay Street wreck between a car and a semi. This occured right at the same intersection but on MLK Jr. Blvd. No injuries there, just a minor fender-bender.

Both wrecks have been cleared.
