The Bluffton Town Manager has implemented designated areas for political signs.
BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) -
Municipal elections are just a few weeks away, on Nov. 5, and political signs are slowly showing up all over the place.
In Bluffton, where seven people are running for the two vacant council seats, the town manager has implemented designated areas for political signs.
Those areas are: landscaped corners at the four way stop, Buckwalter Place (in the first median beyond the entry way sign), and the West corner of the intersection of May River Road and Buckwalter Parkway.
Candidates say the rules regarding signs are a bit much.
"Look we're not going to run campaigns like we do the big national campaigns. This is three weeks from today," said candidate Mike Raymond. "This is a little overboard in my opinion. I think we can loosen up for campaign signs. they're temporary."
Officials say if candidates don't follow these rules, their signs will be removed by the town.
