SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Two separate investigations against the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Dept. were being conducted amidst the controversy surrounding the department over the last several weeks.

Metro Internal Affairs found corruption allegations by the Chatham Counter-Narcotics Team against Officers Willet Williams and Malik Khallis "unsustained" after the FBI and DEA investigated the officers after suspicions that they were working with drug dealers. No criminal charges were ever filed against the two officers.

However, a separate issue surfaced regarding Captain Cedric Phillips after allegations brought by officers that records two internal affairs investigations regarding himself went missing.

Stephanie Cutter, city manager, said "I cannot speak to the missing internal affairs files. There has been some questionable actions regarding internal affairs, and we will deal with that appropriately as well."

Cutter said that after internal affairs questions arose, she brought her concerns to Interim Chief Julliet Tolbert.

Tolbert removed Captain Hank Wiley, the internal affairs commander, from that unit last week. He is now supervising a patrol unit.
