BEAUFORT CO., SC (WTOC) -

Earnest Daise will now face the death penalty or spend the rest of his life in prison without parole.

It took less than two hours for a panel of 12 jurors to convict Earnest Daise for the double murder of Jeanine Mullen and her son, Walfredo.

Daise showed no emotion as he heard Thursday's unanimous guilty verdict.

Right outside the courtroom, there were lots of hugs and tears shed among Jeanine Mullen's family and friends.

They've waited four long years for this day.

"We know she's resting, she's in a better place, we love her but God loves her best and one day, we'll hopefully get to see her again with…all her glory," said Jerry Green, a distant relative.

Daise was also convicted of one count of Assault and Battery with intent to kill, Trafficking Crack Cocaine and Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute.

Both sides now have 24 hours to prepare their case for the sentencing phase.

The trial will resume on Monday, October 21st.
