Schools in Indiana, California, Idaho, Washington and Virginia have selected Ekahau's Real-Time Location System (RTLS) wireless panic button solution to keep students safe and improve school security
RESTON, Va., Oct. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Ekahau Inc., the high-performance leader in Real-Time Location Systems (RFID-over-Wi-Fi™) today announced the selection of the Ekahau wireless panic button solution by six schools focused on ensuring student safety. Schools that selected the Ekahau school safety solution include: Metropolitan School District of Bluffton-Harrison in Bluffton, Indiana; Crown Point Community School Corporation in Crown Point, Indiana; Albany School District in Albany, California; Skyview High School in Nampa, Idaho; Grandview Middle School in Grandview, Washington; and Patrick Henry High School in Glade Spring, Virginia.
A teacher wears an Ekahau RFID safety badge and in the event of a medical, disciplinary or other emergency, pulling down on the badge instantly makes their location known (e.g. "Room3, Woodmont PS, Medical Code Red") to first responders and other badge-holders. Unlike hard-wired panic buttons, Ekahau's safety badge is wearable and provides a wireless panic button and personal alarm device with location-tracking built-in, helping police minimize emergency response times by avoiding map look-ups and phone calls.
Ekahau Vision™ software also allows school officials to send mass notifications to teachers' badges, displayed as text messages on the badge's LED. In addition, Ekahau Vision™ software automatically time-stamps and records all emergency events and resolutions for review by School Boards and police departments.
"Educators and law enforcement officials in communities across America are embracing the idea that location visibility matters when it comes to emergency response effectiveness in schools. We're thrilled at the growth we've experienced with our school safety solution over the last three months, and we're proud to help educators address the challenge of creating safer schools," says Mark Norris, President and CEO of Ekahau.
Ekahau will be exhibiting at Booth#1161, at the International Association of Police Conference (IACP) and Law Enforcement Education and Technology Expo, from October 19th to the 23nd in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
