SCREVEN, GA (WTOC) -

Third graders from across Wayne County got an up-close look at something they may overlook all the time, agriculture.

Jacob and Emily Nolan hosted their second annual farm tour for 200 students and teachers from Jesup Elementary and Odum Elementary. Students got to meet farm animals, took a hay ride through the Nolans' cotton fields and see some videos of what farmers across America do every day.

"They may ride by farms all the time, but never realize what is done here. They need to know where their beef comes from, where their food comes from," Jacob said.

The Nolans, who are state leaders in Georgia Farm Bureau's Young Farmer program, got help from Wayne County Farm Bureau and the UGA Cooperative Extension Office.
