HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC) -

Hilton Head Island Prep held its first anti- bullying seminar for parents Monday night.

More than 50 parents showed up to the program, which focused on cyber bullying and monitoring kids internet activity. The seminar was open to the public.

School officials say bullying in school and online are two issues that have gotten out of hand in the last couple of years, and believe a program like this can help deal with that issue.

"I think this is a great way to deal with this. When we say the bullying prevention program, it's not only focusing in bullying, it's looking at a culture of respect and kindness," said Marilyn Calore, a counselor at Hilton Head Island Prep. "That's where our focus is. That's what we're looking for."

The school will also host two other programs for middle school and high school students on Tuesday.
