Severance for Former Plant Workers

Savannah chemical plant Kerr McGhee has come to an agreement with the 140 employees it laid off. Officials say they are offering the former employees a very fair severance agreement.

Although they are not disclosing the details they say the agreement is designed to help with the transition. They are also going to hold several meetings with the employees to explain all the benefits.

The chemical plant makes titanium dioxide pigment, a substance that makes whites brighter in things like paint and paper.
