Woman's death, man's attempted suicide possibly related

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Detectives from the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan police Dept.'s Criminal Investigations Division are investigating possible ties between a homicide on Savannah's Southside and an attempted suicide in the Islands Precinct.

Islands Precinct Officers responded to a call at 11:20 p.m. in the 20 block of N. Parkwood Street where they found a 24-year-old male suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was transported to Memorial Medical Center, but his condition has not been released.

At 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Southside Precinct officers responded to an apartment on the 400 block of W. Montgomery Cross Road, where they discovered a woman who had succumbed to a gunshot wound.

The two cases appear to be related.
