Armstrong Atlantic fraternity shaves head for breast cancer research

In honor of breast cancer awareness month, the brothers of the Kappa Sigma fraternity at Armstrong Atlantic State University shaved their heads.

The brothers hosted the Shave to Save Breast Cancer event Wednesday. Sixty members of the fraternity hope to raise $3,000 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Ryan Kozusko, the philanthropy chair for the fraternity explained how the event worked.

"Every year brothers put a price on their head for how much they think their hair is worth," he said. "Longer hair is going to be worth more. Then we ask for donations for Susan G. Komen. As people donate to the brothers, once they reach their target goal, they shave their head."

This is the fifth year the men of Kappa Sigma have hosted Shave to Save.
