MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The trial date for a Montgomery man accused of child sexual abuse is being pushed back until early next year.

Montgomery Circuit Court judge Charles Price ordered the trial for Andrew Bartels to begin on February 24, 2014. It was supposed to take place in late August of this year.

Bartels, 39, was arrested in October 2012 and later indicted on three counts of sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years of age.

Authorities believe Bartels met his alleged victims through Frazier United Methodist Church, one of the city's largest church congregations.

Bartels was a member of the church and was the leader of a Sunday school class called the "Samurai Love Tank". The class was for members between the ages of 20 and 30.

Bartels was also employed by Troy University Montgomery as a Campus Web Coordinator until three days after his arrest.

There more than 2 dozen people listed in court documents to be witnesses in this case.
