SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah Fire responded to a possible building collapsing call early Saturday morning just off of Ellis Square.

When Savannah Fire units arrived to Barnard Street close to W. Congress Street, they did not notice any major structural components involved, according to Savannah Fire Chief William Handy.

"We did notice what looked like a brick facade inside probably a window that had been an afterthought window, that was bricked in, that probably due to rain water and the weather we are having, getting behind the brick causing it to fall out on to the sidewalk and into the roadway," said Handy.

No injuries were reported.

The city is to bring out engineers to investigate property maintenance and to look at the structure to investigate thoroughly. The facade is part of Sorry Charlie's, which is not open.
