Man charged with possession of child pornography in Effingham County
EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -
A Guyton man pled guilty in Effingham County Superior Court
Ronald Mullins, 50, was charged with sexual exploitation of
children and possession of child pornography. He has been sentenced to 10 years
The Effingham County Sheriff's Office Internet Crimes
Against Children Task Force conducted a search warrant at Mullins' residence in
Barrister Crossing Subdivision, where they discovered numerous images of child
pornography in July.
Mullins was in possession of more than 100 images and videos
of child pornography. The ages of some of the children were between four and 12
years of age.
During the search warrant, deputies seized computers and
other electronic equipment. Mullins is being held in the Effingham County Jail
until he is turned over to the state prison.
Sheriff Jimmy McDuffie said in a statement, "Protecting our
children is one of the highest priorities at the Effingham County Sheriff's
Office, and we will continue to pursue these cases in the future with ICAC."
