At approximately 9:50 a.m. Friday, Stilson Elementary School's well pump stopped working, leaving the school without water.
Principal Pam Goodman made parents aware of the issue using the school's all-call electronic messaging system.
Because Stilson is not an incorporated city, its facilities do not have city utilities and has wells to provide water service.
Bulloch County School's Maintenance Department immediately brought a water truck to the campus in order for the school to operate a restroom facility, according to Hayley Greene, public relations and marketing specialist for the Bulloch County Board of Education.
Stilson Volunteer Fire Dept. also supplied the school with additional water. The school system supplied the school with bottled water for drinking.
The lunchroom staff already had lunch prepared, so lunch was not affected by the water shut-off.
The Maintenance Department is working on repairing the water system/pump, and it is expected to be back to normal by Monday.
The issue did not affect classroom instruction, nor did it cause school to release early.
