STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) -

Bulloch County Sheriff's Office investigators were contacted by Bulloch County Board of Education transportation supervisors on Thursday regarding incidents involving a school bus running its morning route on U.S. 80W.

The school supervisor indicated that a student riding the bus observed a white male driving a light gray Chevrolet Suburban pull up next to the bus as it loaded students and expose himself.

The student also observed the white male perform other lewd acts.

The student, who was over the age of 17, provided a detailed description of both the suspect and vehicle.

Investigators set up surveillance and undercover BCSO investigators noticed a Chevrolet Suburban exactly like the one described begin to trail the bus as it approached Statesboro.

As the vehicle pulled up behind the bus, investigators initiated a traffic stop. The driver, identified as James Kelley Catron, 39, was found to be in the process of exposing himself.

The students on the bus were not aware of Catron's actions and the bus proceeded from the location.

Catron was transported to the Bulloch County Jail and charged with three counts of public indecency.

In 2011 Catron was convicted of public indecency in Bulloch County State Court for a similar incident. He was also incarcerated in 1998 for cruelty to a child and a hold has been placed on his release by State Probation.
