Savannah Chamber of Commerce hosts Military Appreciation Luncheon

The Savannah Chamber of Commerce hosted its Military Appreciation Luncheon Friday.

Members from each division of the armed forces and a civilian were recognized for their outstanding performance.

Sgt. Eric Douse of the 3rd CAB won NCO of the year.

"It's an honor to me to hold the position," he said. "I really worked hard for it. It's for people who really put themselves out there and strive for their next position."

Spc. April Walter of the HHC, 4th BCT won soldier of the year.

"I say to the city of Savannah they have always given the 3rd ID great support and we are all really proud to be next to such a wonderful city."

Sgt. Juan Nino was named marine of the year.

Maj. Gen. John Murray, commanding general of the 3rd Infantry Division, served as the keynote speaker and WTOC's own Wive President and General Manager, Dr. Bill Cathcart, also spoke.

WTOC was proud to sponsor the event.
