Kroger has made a big donation to the Second Harvest
Savannah in an effort to help them rebuild their freezer and get ready to help
families this holiday season.
Kroger presented them with a check for $19,364 on Monday.
The money was raised during the round up campaign in September, following the
freezer collapse at Second Harvest's storage facility.
They say they cannot believe the out pouring of support from
“We work very, very hard to be good stewards of the funding
that is given to us and this is just one more way the community sees we'll be
able to provide for them. Thanksgiving is a busy time for us as you said. You
know we go out and we give a lot of turkeys, baskets to families and things
like that," said Mary Jane Crouch, Second Harvest.
Kroger said that they were able to raise the money in only 7
