Wine Stroll draws large crowd despite weather

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The Savannah Food and Wine Festival drew a big crowd downtown Friday for the Wine Stroll along River Street, despite the wet conditions.

The evenings consisted of wine and spirits tastings, lots of culinary delights and shopping.

Michael Owens, president of the Savannah Food and Wine Festival was pleased by the turnout.

"Despite the weather, Savannah loves a party. Everybody has come out. This is a sold out event. We've got more than 500 people who have come out to The Plaza to enjoy wine tastings from all over the world."

The main event, Taste of Savannah, is tomorrow in Ellis Square.
