'A Day in the Life,' American Diabetes Month

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The American Diabetes Association is rallying Savannah residents to take action in the fight to stop diabetes. November is national American Diabetes Month.

Tests with detailed information about Risk Tests will be given out for type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Pin-Ups for $1 will be sold in exchange for a Risk Test and a Pre-Diabetes Brochure at the following locations:

The Risk Test is a tool that can help individuals determine their risk for developing type 2 diabetes. The test also describes symptoms and problems related to diabetes, and explain how to lower your risk.

To showcase the extraordinary effort it takes to live a day with the disease, the American Diabetes Association will continue to ask the public to submit a personal image to the Associations Facebook mosaic representing what A Day in the Life of Diabetes means to them. November is American Diabetes Month, a time to communicate the seriousness of diabetes and the importance of diabetes prevention and control.

Nearly 26 million children and adults in the U.S. live with diabetes.
