Richmond County deputies are looking for a man they say stole a cash register from an Augusta restaurant Sunday.

Deputies responded to Golden Garden Korean Restaurant at about 5:30 p.m. in reference to a robbery.

Deputies say the man in the photos entered the restaurant located at 3253 Deans Bridge Rd. pretending to be a customer. He told the owner that he needed to call his friend to ask about a takeout order.

When the owner started walking to the kitchen, the man grabbed the entire cash register from the counter and ran from the business, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies say the man is between 20 and 25 years old. He was wearing a button-up, long-sleeved shirt, tan cargo pants, black sneakers and a black ball cap with DG in white lettering on the front.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect is asked to contact the Richmond County Sheriff's Office at 706-821-1080.
