Feed the Hungry seeks donations for Thanksgiving dinners

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Feed the Hungry is desperately in need of donations of turkeys for the largest holiday dinners served in the state of Georgia.

The organization kicked off the holiday giving over the weekend, feeding thousands of the homeless and working poor. 

The first of their Thanksgiving dinner events was held Friday at the Agape Life Center in Levi, South Carolina and a second dinner took place on Saturday at the YMCA in Hinesville. 

The organization will be serving dinner at a total of nine different locations between Nov. 22 and Nov. 27. Other dinners will be held at the following locations: 

  • Nov. 24 at 4 p.m. - Pembroke Senior Citizen Center, 24 W Bacon St., Pembroke; and Glynn Academy, 1001 Mansfield St., Brunswick. 
  • Nov. 25 at 5 p.m. - Abundant Life Church, 1541 Georgia 21, Springfield
  • Nov. 26 at 5 p.m. - YMCA Pooler, 165 Isaac G. Laroche Dr., Pooler
  • Nov. 27 - There will be three dinners at the following Savannah locations, all at 4 p.m.: W.W. Law Center, John S. Deleware Center, and Frank Callen Boys and Girls Club.
