SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham County Animal Control will host an orientation class for new volunteers on Saturday, Nov. 30.

The orientation is a push to increase volunteer numbers and will be held at 1 p.m. in the animal shelter at 7211 Sallie Mood Drive.

Animal Control seeks many different volunteer services, such as: greeters, office assistants, animal photographers, event coordinators, groomers, property maintenance workers, kennel assistants, dog walkers, cat socializers, play area monitors, off-site adoption managers, veterinary service supporters, and foster coordinators.

No prior animal shleter experience is necessary.

Potential volunteers are asked to notify Lewis prior to orientation; though, walk-ins are welcome. 17-year-old is the minimum age for volunteers.

Lewis can be reached at 912.525.2151 or jlewis01@savannahga.gov.
