COLLEGE STATION, TX (RNN) - Texas A&M scored two points in the first 30 seconds and never looked back, defeating Sam Houston 79-62 at home on Sunday.

The Aggies (5-0) led with 41 rebounds, 14 assists and seven blocks. They made four of their 10 attempted 3-pointers and 19 of their 30 free throws.

Antwan Space led the Aggies with 12 points and nine rebounds, and Alex Caruso led with five assists and one steal.

The Bearkats (4-1) came within one point early in the first half, but Texas A&M pulled away, leading 34-25 at the half. In the second half, the Aggies led by as much as 31 points before Sam Houston started closing the deficit with less than five minutes left. They never grabbed the lead, however, and were outscored 45-37.

This was the first game of the season for Texas A&M's J-Mychal Reese, who was suspended for four games for an undisclosed violation of a team rule during the preseason.

Texas A&M will play its sixth home game in a row on Tuesday, Nov. 26, when the Aggies take on the Arkansas Pine Bluff Golden Lions.
