Wilmington ranks 31st in Nation for Anti-Obamacare ads

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – A recent study shows the national spending on Anti-Obamacare advertising. Of all the areas studied in the United States, five of North Carolina's cities ranked in the top 40.

Wilmington came in as the 31st ranked city for anti-Affordable Care Act (ACA) advertising. Between January 1 and November 22, 2013 advertisers spent an estimated $71,420 on television political advertising critical of the ACA.

Greensboro and Greenville ranked 23rd and 38th with advertisers spending an estimated $122,820 and $48,700 respectively.

Advertisers in both Charlotte and the Raleigh-Durham area took great opposition to Obamacare. Advertisers in these cities each spent over half a million dollars and ranked 1st and 4th in the nation.

An average of 22.9% of people living in the cities studies and their surrounding areas were uninsured.  To view an interactive map showing these statistics click this link. The source for the data is gmmb.

    Congressman David Rouzer (NC7) is one of seven members of North Carolina's delegation voting against a measure that would raise the country’s debt ceiling, and provide emergency relief funding for victims of Hurricane Harvey. HR 601, which also makes necessary adjustments to keep the government open for another three months, passed the U.S House of Representatives Friday morning by a count of 316-90.
