A Southwest Georgia company is bringing the community together with its first ever Pecan Festival.

"All for God's Glory" is the theme for the first ever Pecan festival in Sylvester.  The Georgia Pecan Company opened their 55-thousand square foot facility last year and now they want to give back to the community.

"We love the Lord we want to express that through what we do in our daily life and we want to just bless people with music and song," said Janice Craft.

People enjoyed live music, including area artists, and Grammy nominated Christian singer Wayne Watson. The "Old Friends Band" was the opening act.

"We enjoy getting together and play, so any opportunity we really enjoy it," said Joe Malinowski.

More than a dozen vendors were at the event. There was your traditional festival foods like funnel cakes and other favorites.

"Here today we're providing funnel cakes we also have jumbo turkey legs," said Nicholas Rushing.

Plus, homemade oils made at an area farm.

"The unrefined aspect of it leaves you with a flavorful oil that's full of vitamins, nutrients and the taste and color is there," said Clay Oliver.

Kids even got to tell Santa what they want for Christmas. The company plans to make this an annual event.  The Georgia Pecan Company plans to host an indoor fun fair at their facility in January.
