SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Sea Tow Savannah donates 60 life jackets for the Safe Kids Savannah Kids Don't Float program. The Safe Kids Savannah Kids Don't Float program is aimed at keeping children safe while enjoying time in and on the water.

The life jackets will be included as part of the Safe Kids Savannah life jacket loaner stations located at popular Chatham County boat ramps including Rodney Hall boat ramp (Skidaway Narrows), Houlihan Bridge boat ramp, the Lazaretto Creek boat ramp, and the Thunderbolt boat ramp and fishing pier.

The life jackets are available while boating in the area; Safe Kids Savannah asks that boaters return the life jackets to the loaner stations so that others may use them.

Georgia law requires that children under 10 wear a life jacket when riding in a boat. Individuals or organizations are always welcome to support the life jacket loaner stations by donating new or gently used life jackets.

For more information on the Kids Don't Float program or on where to donate life jackets, call (912) 350-1118.
