Driver charged in fatal hit-and-run denied bond

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A 25-year-old woman charged in a fatal hit-and-run wreck on Thanksgiving morning was denied bond.

Officials say Jonathan Edwards, 35, of Savannah, was killed when he was struck by a vehicle driven by Jessica Krebs, 25, on Johnny Mercer Boulevard just east of the Spencer Grayson Bridge over Turner's Creek Wilmington IslandKrebs left the scene and later called police from her residence to report her windshield had been broken.

According to Savannah-Chatham Metro, Edwards was walking on the roadway when he was struck just after midnight. 

Krebs has been charged with driving under the influence, hit and run with fatal injuries and first degree vehicular homicide. 

A judge denied bond for Krebs at an arraignment on Nov. 30. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Dec. 11
