Vigil to honor mother killed in Savannah

The family of a mother of two who was killed on Halloween last year will hold a vigil in honor of her birthday Tuesday at Forsyth Park.

Melithia Singleton's relatives say her body was found by her two children last year. Police officially charged Thomas Montrell Jackson with Singleton's murder after recovering her black Mitsubishi that had been missing since the murder. The two were known to have dated in the past but were estranged when the incident occurred.

The vigil for Melithia is set for Dec. 3 at the Forsyth Park fountain from 5 to 7 p.m.
