SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Benedictine Military School is paying tribute to the first Savannah man to die at Pearl Harbor.

Staff Sergeant George K. Gannam graduated from Benedictine in 1938. He fought in World War II and was killed in the attack on Pearl Harbor 72 years ago.

The BC Corps of Cadets honor his sacrifice each year on the anniversary, which is actually Saturday, so they had to move it to Friday. But, BC has a football game scheduled for Friday, so it was set for Dec. 4 instead.

The event starts Wednesday at 8:45 a.m.
