Beaufort County Sheriff's deputies have found Margarita Gonzalez's cell phone near the Lemon Island Bridge in Okatie.
Gonzalez and her boyfriend, Osman Escobedo, disappeared early Sunday morning after a party she was hosting at her house.
"She was right here at 3 o'clock in the middle of the night, but they found her cell phone in Okatie," said her son, Jonathan Marinque. "What would she be doing all the way down there?"
That question has been driving Marinique crazy all week. The last time he saw his mother was at their house. He said she got into a heated argument with Escobedo.
Investigators aren't calling Osman a suspect, but he is a person of interest.
"He was the last person to be seen with her so we can't categorize that as suspect, but we are obviously interested in speaking with him," said BCSO spokesperson, Robin McIntosch.
According to Marinque, Osman's phone was phone inside his jacket, which he left at the house Sunday.
Right now Gonzales is considered missing and endangered. The longer she's gone the harder it gets for her family.
"We're hoping that she's able to come back," said Jonathan.
"The more time that passes the more the concern grows for her safety," said McIntosch.
Investigators said Osman drives a gray 2001 four-door Dodge Stratus with S.C. license plate DMR 686.
If you see that car or have any information about this case, your asked to call Beaufort county Sheriff's department at 1.843.255.3200.
