LADY'S ISLAND, SC (WTOC) -

The Beaufort County sheriff's deputies responded to a domestic dispute call on Lady's Island, which ended in the seizure of stolen firearms and drugs.

Deputies were called to a home Wednesday morning on Gay Drive.

A 19-year old female woman told deputies she had just been assaulted by her boyfriend 20-year-old Jabari Kadeem Simmons. She said that after she had been punched in the face during an argument, Simmons ran from the residence with a handgun.

It was suspected that Simmons went to a family members' house on Ferry Drive. Deputies went there, but residents told them Simmons wasn't there. After being granted consent to confirm that Simmons was not inside, deputies made entry.

A search warrant was obtained and those there were detained. A search turned up cocaine and marijuana and 20 firearms, according to the BCSO. Eight of the firearms were flagged as stolen. An ATV on the property that had also been reported stolen was seized.
