Neighbors shocked after man found dead

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A man was found dead in his bed Saturday morning. Savannah Chatham Metro Police were on the scene for hours at the home on East Anderson Street, trying to figure out whether this is a case of homicide.

"We woke up this morning to crime tape around the house next door," said neighbor Curtis Lemon.

Lemon couldn't believe it when he heard the news that his next door neighbor had died.

"I'm still in awe at what happened, this is not a bad neighborhood," said Lemon.

Lemon says the man who died was a contractor who lived with several other contractors.

"He helped put up these railings around my house about three weeks ago," said Lemon.

But the last time Lemon saw him was Friday night; he says a group of them were just hanging out and enjoying their night.

"After a hard day's work, some people just want a beer or something but I don't know what happened or what caused it," said Lemon.

Savannah- Chatham Metropolitan investigators spent hours at the house looking for answers.

"Anytime you have any investigation, you pull out all the stops. You never know where the investigation is going to go and you can't go back and re-do it," said SCMP Spokesperson Julian Miller.

Police have yet to say how the man died, or whether they believe someone took his life. If you have any information, call SCMP  (912) 651-6675
