On Saturday, students at Armstrong Atlantic State University put their books away and their graduation caps on!
AASU held its commencement ceremony for both graduate and undergraduate students accepting degrees in education, health sciences, and liberal arts. Forty of the graduates were recognized for serving in the military.
"Well, today has been a long journey. It's been some years. I thank the army for giving me a leg up on the career that has been presented to me today, and the faculty here at Armstrong has been just awesome," said Reginald Peggins, graduate receiving the Criminal Justice degree.
This was the first time in the University's history that military graduates wore patriotic red, white, and blue cords along with their cap and gown.
