The Savannah Chatham County Public School Sysytem and the Maritime Logistics Education Taskforce kicked off the Maritime Logistic Internship Program for high school students on Monday night.
Eleven students were chosen to learn about Georgia's logistics workforce and bring awareness to learn about transportation and supply chain careers to the students.
James Leanoard, a MLET intern, was excited about the program.
"We begin to move from the average, daily day to day life at high school, and we try to get involved with the community."
The students will participate in the internship from February to May of 2014.
This is the second year of the Maritime Logistics Internship Program for students in the 11th and 12th grades.
