Man Breaks into Grocery Store

Police are searching for a man who broke into a downtown grocery store overnight. Around 1:30am this morning, an alarm went off at the Food Lion on Victory Drive. When police arrived, an officer saw the suspect inside the store and called for backup.

They went in to get him, but the suspect managed to get past them and into the marshes. Police searched around Truman Parkway and Casey Canal with K-9s on the ground and their helicopter in the air for three hours, but came up empty handed.

They say the suspect apparently crawled into the store through the roof.

Orange Crush 2018 is in full effect this weekend, but so is the alcohol ban across Tybee Island. Law enforcement has been preparing for this huge annual event for some time. Patrol cars were lined up along Highway 80 as a cautionary measure to deter drinking and driving. Tybee police say they haven't made any arrests on Saturday, and many partygoers say they are aware of the alcohol ban and are abiding by it.  "So far, most folks are well behaved," said Tybe...
