BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) -

In the Lowcountry, one fire district is joining hands with Beaufort Memorial Hospital to fight breast cancer.

The Bluffton Township Fire District Auxiliary presented a $4,000 check Tuesday night to the hospital's Women's Imaging Center.

The proceeds came from the auxiliary's annual Lowcountry Rockin' the Pink Breast Cancer Walk.

"We're so thankful for folks like Leslie and her group in the community because we are a not-for-profit hospital, and community dollars mean a lot to our programs, services and buildings," said Alicia Taylor, Associate Director of Development, Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

This is the fourth year the Bluffton auxiliary has donated part of its proceeds to Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
