CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

Ogeechee Road between Liberty Parkway and Stiles Avenue has reopened after a multi-car wreck that forced a school bus off the road on Wednesday morning.

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police said that at about 9 a.m., a Fed Ex truck was traveling westbound on Ogeechee Road and went to make a lefthand turn. A white van traveling behind the Fed Ex truck tried to move into other lane and was hit by another truck. A school bus ended up in some trees on the shoulder in an attempt to avoid the other vehicles.

Police said no one was hurt in the wreck and that no passengers were on the bus at the time.

Savannah Fire and Hazmat responded to assist with the cleanup. One of the trucks involved ended up spilling about three gallons of diesel fuel onto the road.

The road was closed so the fuel could be cleaned up.
