A 23-year old Hilton Head Island woman has been arrested for inappropriate conduct with a 16-year old male.

Margaret Ann Lamantia was arrested after an investigation that began on Wednesday into ongoing contact she was reportedly having with a 16-year old student at Hilton Head High School.

The student's parents filed a report with the resource officer at the high school after learning of what they believed to be an improper relationship between Lamatia and their son.

The contact reportedly began at the high school, where the victim was a student in Lamantia's Spanish class, after the two exchanged phone numbers just before the Thanksgiving holiday. The two then began to communicate via text message.

Between Nov. 29 and 30, Lamantia sent a picture of her genitalia via the Snap Chat application to the victims cell phone.

On Nov. 6, Lamantia asked the victim to purchase marijuana for her. The victim agreed and purchased a small quantity of marijuana. They then met later that evening when Lamantia picked up the victim from the Island Recreation Center.

The two reportedly rode around the island for several hours after the victim delivered the marijuana. After later learning that their son had been terminated from his job at the Island Rec Center for smelling of marijuana, the victim's parents questioned him, where he then disclosed his contact with Lamantia.

Lamantia has been charged with one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one count of disseminating harmful material to a minor.

The investigation remains active, and the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information to contact either Investigator SSgt. B. Chapman at 843.255.3417 or Crimestoppers.
