Beaufort County School District expands learning choices
BEAUFORT CO., SC (WTOC) -
In the Lowcountry, the Beaufort County School District is expanding its menu of learning choices for students.
The board has approved a proposal for 10 curriculum options which includes Arts Integration programs and Classical Studies.
Other programs like International Baccalaureate and Dual Language programs are already being offered in classrooms.
The goal is to engage not only students, but also parents.
"We'll have them there for PTO meetings, for other activities if we need them to come maybe with tutoring, mentoring, they're going to want to be engaged because they chose that school for their child," said Dr. Jeffrey Moss, Beaufort County School Superintendent.
Moss hopes each school will have at least one program choice in place by the start of next school year.
