Man sought on drug charges arrested in Rincon

RINCON, GA (WTOC) -

A Savannah man wanted on several drug charges by the Savannah Chatham Counter Narcotics Team was arrested Friday in Rincon by the U.S. Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Kevin Lamar Speaks 31, was sought on charges of attempt/conspiracy to violate the Georgia Controlled Substances Act, trafficking in cocaine over 28 grams, use of a communication facility for criminal use and possession of firearm/knife in committing a crime. A warrant was issued in September.

An extensive investigation was conducted by the task force and information was generated the he may be in the Rincon area. They generated an address off of Ninth Street in Rincon. With the help of CNT agents and  Rincon police, the task force went to the address and found Speaks in an apartment off of Ninth street.

He was arrested without incident and taken to the Effingham County jail to await pick up by Chatham County, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
