The Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce are celebrating a year of accomplishments.
At its 207th annual meeting Friday at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort and Spa, the 2013 Board Chair Jenny Gentry, city president of Wells Fargo, was recognized as she passed the gavel to incoming board Chair Toby Moreau, the city executive of BB&T. Other outgoing members, committee chairs and volunteers were also recognized at the meeting.
"This is the culmination of the 2013 Savannah Chamber of Commerce year and our Visit Savannah year. It's been an exciting year. We have seen some economic rebound. There is certainly more to do. but it's a culmination of a year's worth of activity, networking and a lot of business advancement as we go into the 2014 year," said Bill Hubbard, chamber president and CEO.
The chamber's Oglethorpe Award for Exceptional Community Leadership was presented posthumously to John Matthews, he was former managing partner of Deemer, Dana and Froehle.
