SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Jury selection in the trial for a man charged with the slaying of an 18-year-old woman continues Monday.

After first process, four jurors were excused. They have now started the full jury selection process with about 44 candidates.

The selection process began at 9:45 a.m. Monday.

Shan Cheley was charged with murder in October 2012 with the September 2012 death of 18-year-old Amber Deloach.

Investigators say Deloach was strangled to death. Police said Cheley was identified in surveillance video at a BP gas station shortly before 911 calls started coming in that a car was on fire.

Her body was found Sept. 30 in the trunk of a burned car in Yamacraw Village. A motions hearing was held earlier this month to figure out what will be allowed in court.
