Police investigate 2 Subway robberies

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Police are investigating armed robberies that happened Saturday night at two different Subway restaurants.

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Dept.'s Robbery Patrol and the K-9 unit responded shortly after 9 p.m. to the Subway off of White Bluff Road.

Investigators say a man came in with a gun demanding money. The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

Hours later, another armed robbery occurred at the Subway off Robert Smalls Parkway in Beaufort.

Beaufort police say it happened at about 10:30 p.m. A man came in with a gun and robbed the restaurant and then fleeing with an unknown amount of cash.

Beaufort police said the suspect was wearing black hat worn backwards and a black hoodie had had writing on the front of it. He is about 5'6" and has a medium build.

Police are still investigating both of these cases. There is no word yet on if they are related.
