Home invasion, robbery in Sheldon

SHELDON, SC (WTOC) -

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is investigating a home invasion and robbery that occurred early Saturday at a home on Paige Point Road in Sheldon, SC.

Deputies responded to 129 Paige Point Rd. just before 3 a.m. in reference to a reported robbery and assault.

Deputies made contact with the 56-year-old male homeowner, who said that two unknown suspects had broken into his home and robbed him.

The victim said two black males, one armed with a shotgun, forced their way through the back door of his home, and one suspect punched the victim in the face several times and demanded his wallet.

The suspects reportedly took the victim's wallet and an undisclosed amount of cash before leaving the home.

Both suspects were described as black males wearing all black clothing. The victim sustained visible facial injuries but refused medical attention.

The Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information to contact either Investigator Cpl. J. Malphrus at 845.255.3426 or Crimestoppers.
