Savannah woman speaks about Bounty sinking, plans another sailing trip

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A little more than a year after being pulled from the Atlantic Ocean, a local woman spoke out about what it was like escaping the sinking HMS Bounty.

The Tall Ship Bounty went down during Superstorm Sandy, taking with it the boat's captain and one crew member. Anna Sprague, daughter of Savannah Alderwoman Mary Ellen Sprague, was on the ship and surviced by jumping overboard as the boat went down.

"I jumped in the water, and the rest is kind of a blur," said Anna Sprague. "I remember finding some people and then getting separated, getting pulled under the water by lines, getting away from that and then eventually finding a life raft."

Sprague is saving up for another sailing adventure, this one to Antarctica.
