(RNN) - Apple has released a new Christmas commercial and there's not a dry eye on the internet.

The 90-second spot, entitled Misunderstood may or may not boost iPhone sales this Christmas, but it's going to sell a lot of tissues. If you look up to see one of your coworkers wiping their eyes, there's a good likelihood the simple, elegantly produced spot has struck another heart string.

The storytelling, music and imagery are spot-on, and the flawless branding is what Apple has become known for.

The nerdy kid who keeps his nose buried in his iPhone during his family's picture-perfect holiday reunion wasn't being distant after all, and he redeems himself completely when he unveils his surprise gift on Christmas morning.

Grab the tissues. When grandma loses it at 1:19, you will, too.
